Minutes of the Biannual Meeting of
the Association
September 15, 2006
President Joe Rosenberg declares the the meeting of POVA open at
1530.
President Rosenberg asked that we take a moment to think of the
soldiers overseas and their safe return.
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived.
President Rosenberg has chosen not to run for president or any other
office in POVA. We appreciate the dedicated work Joe has done for
our organization.

The membership voted on the amendments proposed by Past President

vote by proxy, changed to “by absentee ballot” yes
Tentative date for Fort Bragg Ceremony and naming of Building for
LT Merkle is November 9 th 2006 .
Dr Richard B. Verrone, from Texas Tech, stated they would host our
web site for us at no cost to us, providing a webmaster to keep content
current and we can make our own changes. This is to be worked out
by our President and Dr. Verrone
No progress between Tom Brandt and getting our collection to Texas
Tech.
Approved as POVA priorities:

We are a reunion Organization.

We will look after our member families (Member, Spouse and children)

We will keep our relationship with active Duty to a minimum.

We will honor future KIAs by sending a card and as needed,
donate from the Joint Fund

Active Duty Support: Joint POA/POVA fund to be administered by
Doug Elwell.
Note: We are not a service Organization for active Duty Military
organizations.
A motion to continue our current policy on dues payment for current
members passed (Board can change dues requirements)..
During September 16 Rose Ceremony, each of the Merkles will place
a rose for Korea, VietNam, Agean, and Gulf Wars.
This year's CHARITABLE donation (aprox $150) will be postponed until,
and if a special worthy cause is determined.
Reunion 2008. Members voted to hold in the Disney area of Florida.
Dates suggested were around the 15th of June or 15 th of August (after
grandkids are out of school and before next school year starts).
Meeting adjourned at 1705, September 16, 2006.
